Rebecca Beavers

Rebecca Beavers is a graduate student at The George Washington University, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Media and Strategic Communications. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Journalism from Morgan State University, complemented by a minor in vocal music performance.

Her academic and professional work centers on the intersections of education, equity, and media representation. With a background in reporting, digital storytelling, and public-interest communication, Rebecca approaches her projects with a deep commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and examining the systems that shape access and opportunity.

She is an active member of several service and professional organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Incorporated; the National Council of Negro Women; the National Association of Black Journalists; and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Rebecca’s work is driven by a desire to build narratives that inform, challenge, and inspire — a foundation that guides her role as the creator and host of Bridging the Gap.
